2001-2004 Nissan Caravan

This period of time was marked by many options. There was the KG-VWE25 (Diesel, FR), KG-VWME25 (Diesel, 4WD), LC-CQGE25 (Gasoline, FR), KG-CWMGE25 (Diesel, FR), LC-VPE25 (Diesel, 4WD), LC-VPE25 (Gasoline, FR/WD). These came with three different displacements: 1998, 2953, and 2488.

2004-2005 Nissan Caravan

Within these two years, there were two model codes: KR-VWME25 and KR-CWMGE25. These models have similar stats with a diesel engine, 4WD, and 2953 displacement.
In 2004, Nissan made improvements to the seat covers. Plus, the engine was improved. There were also design changes to the front seats.

2007 Nissan Caravan

In 2007, there were a couple of changes. Nissan introduced a 2,488cc gasoline engine, which led to better fuel efficiency and higher speed. The transmission was now a 5-speed automatic, which also improved fuel efficiency.
This model sat up to 12 people. There was a diesel engine with FR and a 2953 displacement.
The model of this year was KR-VWE25.

2009 Nissan Caravan

The model for this year was CBF-VRE25. This model was gasoline with FR and 1998 displacement.
In this generation, there are two different body styles: 3-door or 4-door van. Other changes were that the exterior was modified, and color bumpers were introduced. There were updates to the transmission, which led to better fuel efficiency.
In 2010, there was an improvement in the loading capacity. So, for example, people could have filled the first two rows of seating and still had room for 30.3 cm of plywood. The 2010 was also when they were certified by the 2015 Fuel Consumption Standards and the required taxes were lowered.

ZD30DD engine is Popular!

ZD30DD engine has a VP44 distributor injection pump. The compression ratio was 18.5:1, it had 77kW (103 hp) at 3800 pm and 226 Nm at 2000 pm. The manual transmission torque was limited to 209 Nm.
There was a turbocharge that had a compression ratio of 17.9:1. It was non-intercooled, 314 Nm (232 lb-ft) at 2000 pm.

3.0 L ZD30DDTi
This version is a four-cylinder engine with a bore stroke of 96x102. It has a cast-iron crank. There was an aluminum cylinder head and a turbocharger.

2nd Generation ZD30DDTi
In 2007, there was a change to the engine to fill a hole in the mark left by the exit of the TD42T1. They used Bosch injection, 1600 bar system pressure, and improved ECU in this model. The engine had a low emissions rate to ensure it was complying with the Euro standards.

Transmission

5-Speed Manual Transmission
Some models have the option of a 5-speed manual instead of an automatic. There are some advantages to a 5-speed, like it is easier to use, uses less oil and gets better fuel efficiency.

4-Speed Automatic Transmission
There is also an option to have a 4-speed automatic transmission. These models are a little easier to operate.
