6th Generation Canter FE5, 6
Released with the slogan 'Good truck for everyone'. It gained reputation by good aerodynamic round cubic cab and some other features.
It has been produced from 1993 to 2002.
Nov. 1993
Full model change and sixth generation of Canter was released. In addition, twin caliper ventilated disk brake, for the first application in the segment, is introduced to the model with disk brakes for front wheel. The front lamp (low beam) of some Great models was replaced from projector type and door outer handle was change to vertical flap type. The micro bus with this model's chassis is still manufactured in Taiwan and some other places. The brake system is made by the supplier Akebono Brake Industry, and the company has a patent for the system.
1994
The pump fire engine ' MX-I ' was joint-developed with the superstructure supplier Morita. The design with oneness between cab and body was applied. Compared to the conventional CD- pump fire engine, the size of cab was expanded, and AT was mounted. Besides, all-shutter type was applied to the body.
Oct. 1995
The wide cab model with 4t payload and standard cab model with 3.5t payload were added to the line-up.
Feb. 1996
LPG model was introduced.
1997
4G63 petrol engine was mounted to Canter Guts. Besides, CNG model was applied. On the other hand, Diamedic, Canter-based high standard ambulance was released (discontinued in 2002). Besides, CNG model was applied.
Oct. 1997
Shock absorbing steering wheel was introduced. In addition, 4M50 direct injection diesel engine common to fourth generation of Rosa Bus was applied first time for the segment. On the other hand, the transmission of Canter Guts 4WD model was replaced from part-time 4WD with ultra low speed sub transmission to full-time 4WD without sub transmission.

Design of front upper grill and tail lamp was refined.
2000
Air bag for driver seat was equipped as standard except for Canter Guts models.
