8th Generation Toyota Dyna Truck
The current model, the 8th generation DYNA/TOYOACE is an OEM from HINO. Compared to the conventional model, the mileage has improved significantly. But the biggest difference is the diesel hybrid model. There were hybrid models in the past, but it has always been a parallel structure where the motor assists the engine. On the other hand, the 8th generation has the same structure as a regular passenger vehicle. This parallel structure has the advantage of being able to run solely on motor. Due to this, the 8th generation DYNA/TOYOACE is able to run with less noise and gas emission.
It has been produced from 2110 to - (2.0t)

By using a clutch between the engine and the motor/generator, it can now operate solely on motor. This new hybrid system increased mileage by 1.0km/L on the 2t, and 1.4km/L on the 3t. On the diesel models, N04C-UM (85kw/325Nm), N04C-UN (100kw/390Nm), N04C-UP (110kw/420Nm), and the N04C-UQ (132kw/480Nm) were now available. For transmission, there were now 3 types, the 6-speed AT, 5-speed MT, and the 6-speed MT. The shape of the front design has been improved to decrease air resistance as well.
In terms of safety, the pillar has become thinner, while keeping the same strength, and wide-view mirrors were added, helping the drivers see more and prevent accidents. The dual mirror now came as a standard feature. Furthermore, the first VSC option for a small truck was now available. On the hybrid model, a distinct stripe was added on the grill and door.
