The 5th generation TOYOACE went on sale on August of 1985. In this model change, using the DYNA (renewed on September of 1984) model as the base, the variety of models available increased. A low capacity HIACE and TOYOACE was introduced. Now there were models ranging from 1t to 3.5t. The 1t TOYOACE was discontinued and the 1t models were all put in the HIACE series. On the other hand, 2t, 2.75t, 3t, and 3.5t models were added to the TOYOACE. For the 2t model, small diameter radial tires were used for both the front and back to lower the floor, resetting the full Just low model with increased comfort. The TOYOACE now had the 1.6-liter, 2-liter, and a 2-liter LPG model. The diesel lineup now had a total of 5 models, the 2.45-liter, 3.0-liter, 3.4-liter with/without turbo, and the 4.0-liter.

The 5th generation TOYOACE is here. In addition to the 1.5t G15, the G25/35 (2~3.5t) joined the lineup. Furthermore, in terms of variation, it now had more things in common with the DYNA series.
