4th Generation Toyota Dyna Truck
The 4th generation TOYOACE went on sale on March of 1979. In 1979, environmental adjustments were made in accordance with new regulations regarding gas emission, noise, and safety. Furthermore, in order to fulfill customer demands for more variation, model types were increased. The full-cab over cabin also made it easier to get on/off the truck and opened up more interior space. Other improvements were seen with cargo load, controllability, seats, and other specs. This model was now as comfortable as a regular passenger car.
The size/deck length did not change much. The wheelbase shrank to 345mm. The minimum radius decreased by 0.7m, making it easier than ever to use. For the power terrain, the SOHC 2.2-liter diesel engine was added on top of the 2.5-liter (2J) model. From 7 models, the variation of diesel models increased to 25. Furthermore, with the addition of the 1.6-liter (2R) and the 2-liter 5R) gasoline models, there were now 20 gasoline models.
