3rd Generation Toyota Dyna Truck

The 3rd TOYOACE went on sale on August of 1971. It used the same semi-cab over style and increased the interior space for comfort. Curved windshields and windows were introduced, ventilation improved, shock/noise absorbency improved, window-washers now came as a standard feature for all models, brakes were improved, and a built-in door handle was introduced in this updated model.

This is the last model that has the semi-cab over structure.

The headlamp was changed to 2 round ones. For the wheelbase, there were 3 types, the 2,500mm, 2,600mm, and the 2,735mm. The later models now had TOYOACE’s first diesel model (JY-16, J model 2J-2.5L engine). Furthermore, the “Just low” model (RY-14), with small double-wheels for the rear (5.00-12 8 ply x 2), was introduced to the 1.25t gasoline type lineup. For the taillight, the 3-colored model with reflectors, common among other Toyota trucks, was used.
