So, you might wonder how much you need to spend when importing cars from Japan to the UK. In this post, we are going to share the fees you will generally encounter during the process. <\/span><\/p>\n

Typical Fees Involved in Importing Cars<\/strong><\/h2>\n

  1. Auction Japan fee.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Transport charges from the auction house to the exporter\u2019s yard, then to the port. <\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Fees for export and de-registration documents.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Shipping fees. Typically, the charges are based on the cubic meters of space occupied by the vehicle. <\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Insurance for shipping (optional).<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Commission for the UK import agent or car dealer.<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. UK port charges.<\/span><\/li>\n

    Getting Exempted from VAT<\/strong><\/h2>\n

    According to the <\/span>Gov.UK portal<\/span><\/a>, you do not have to pay for VAT if your used car meets ALL these conditions:<\/span><\/p>\n
